Detection limits are always sample dependent. If the sample matrix or interferences do not allow us to attain requested detection limits, we will report the lowest detection limits achievable.

For drinking water samples, residual chlorine must be neutralized at the time of sampling. GEO will provide the proper containers and preservatives upon request. We can not be held responsible for samples that are not neutralized or preserved properly.

Sample volumes influence detection limits. For example, if one tenth of the required sample volume is submitted your detection limit will be increased by ten fold. If you are unsure of the correct volumes, please ask prior to sampling.

Although GEO Analytical, Inc. may provide guidance or recommendations for the selection of analytical methods, it is ultimately the customer’s decision and responsibility for making this determination. No work may begin on any sample(s) submitted to the lab with a chain of custody (COC) that does not indicate the specific analytical methods. All corrections or modifications to the COC must be received in writing in order to proceed.

GEO Analytical, Inc. performs analytical services for several different regulatory programs. If not specified on the chain of custody, we assume you are using the State of Ohio regulations. Re-analysis of samples to comply with other states regulatory requirements will be charged at the regular rate. Should a question arise regarding reporting limits, please have the regulator/agency contact GEO directly.

Clients utilizing SW846-5035 sampling techniques should contact GEO Analytical prior to the start of the project for appropriate information regarding proper analytical methods, sampling media, and sample handling protocols.
